Shelf Talk Event at Ecomspaces - wrapaloc

Shelf Talk was a beauty business networking collaboration with my Sistah friend, Denise Zannu, CEO of Black Mermaid's Bath & Body. We both have a passion for sharing resources and opportunities with others in the beauty industry particularly as it relates to manufacturing. Providing an environment to network, connect and learn is a way to lift up and guide those new and growing entrepreneurs.

One of my main directives to entrepreneurs is to Follow-up on all leads, because you never know who will lead you to the person or results you desire. Oftentimes we judge, are afraid of rejection and take for granted who can help us into or out of a business situation. Let others know what you need!

Four tips that I shared with the group have taken me far in my journey as an entrepreneur.

  1. Enroll in a business class. Find a program or class related to business. This helps you organize your ideas and provides structure to create and execute your plan.
  2. Invest in yourself. Don’t be afraid to invest in yourself. There will be some challenging times but stick to your vision to see it through.
  3. Share your vision. Open up and tell people about what you are working on. Sharing your vision with your network can put you in contact with the right people to help you achieve your dreams. Whenever you pursue your dreams, don’t take anything for granted who can help you get to the place you are trying to reach.
  4. Follow up. Follow up on EVERY lead that you get. This tip goes hand and hand with Tip #3, but it's very important. You never know who will lead you to the person or results you desire. Often we judge, are afraid of rejection, and take for granted who can help us into or out of a business situation. Follow up and let others know what you need!
