Competing in the St. Anthony's Triathlon

Competing in the St. Anthony's Triathlon - wrapaloc

Today Saturday, April 30th was a fantastic day! I completed a triathlon. It is something I would encourage you to challenge your body, mind & spirit to do! I don’t know what made me say yes to doing a triathlon because I was not a swimmer. That was my biggest fear & challenge. However, I've always admired swimmers and their smoothness in the water.

To do a triathlon, I knew I had to get serious and get my butt in shape and train. My friend who invited me to this challenge is a member of Atlanta TRI Sisters - a support group of diverse and outstanding women who train and participate in triathlons.

I joined the group and invested in a personal trainer working out at least three days a week. I was in the pool at least 3 days a week, and Brotha Sabir (former lifeguard) volunteered to instruct me on swimming techniques and drills. Commitment is Key!!!

As I mature on this life journey, I like to set physical goals. Several years ago I
completed a 5k run in 45 minutes. My goal was 20 minutes.

The triathlon pushed my overall strength and endurance to a new height mentally and physically. I did it! A 200-meter swim, 5 1/2 mile bike ride, and 1-mile run - all while wearing my Wrapaloc Tools. I got 2nd place in the 60-64 group! 🙌🏿 🙏🏿 😘

It's amazing what we can achieve when we put our minds to it and commit ourselves! This is definitely true when it comes to fitness and health goals. Here are some pics from the St. Anthony's Triathlon event.
